SABAAN'S DEDICATION

Every fleet starts with a single ship — and every captain starts with a single spark. This is the story of how one citizen ended up dedicating himself to the 'verse.

HOW IT STARTED

It began, as these things often do, with Star Trek. Watching Picard command the Enterprise — calm at the center of the unknown — lit an enthusiasm for space exploration that never burned out. The genre had its hooks in deep. What Star Citizen offered was the next step: not just watching someone else's ship cross a distant galaxy, but commanding your own.

HOW I WAS INTRODUCED

After years contentedly flying spreadsheets-in-space through Eve Online, a single YouTube video changed the flight plan. It showed a ship called the Starfarer — and the first encounter with that vessel left a permanent impression. The video shows its age now, but the effect hasn't faded. One watch, and the course was set for Stanton.

HOW I BECAME A COLLECTOR

For a while, two ships felt like plenty. Then Consolidated Outland unveiled the Pioneer — and something shifted. That reveal was the catalyst that turned a satisfied owner into a dedicated collector, one hull at a time, all the way to a fleet of more than two hundred ships.

Was it logical? Highly illogical. Would it happen again? Absolutely.
